EU Programs and Strategic Alignment

The EDAI strategy complements and reinforces several existing European Union initiatives that are already laying the groundwork for a more sovereign and technologically resilient Europe. These include:

Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL):
This €8.1 billion EU funding programme focuses on bringing digital technology to businesses, citizens and public administrations. While DIGITAL primarily addresses technological capacity building (supercomputing, AI, cybersecurity, skills), EDAI complements this by focusing on service adoption, community building, and cultural shifts toward European digital sovereignty.

Digital Compass 2030:
The EU’s vision for Europe’s digital transformation, setting measurable targets for digital skills, infrastructure rollout, digitalization of businesses and public services by the end of the decade. EDAI supports these goals by promoting awareness and adoption of European digital services aligned with these targets.

European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH):
A European network of regional hubs that help companies improve their business through digital technologies. These hubs can serve as key collaborators for EDAP in engaging SMEs, local governments, and public institutions.

Chips Act and Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP):
While these focus on hardware sovereignty and critical enabling technologies, EDAI adds the software, services, and cultural dimension necessary to ensure that this sovereignty is holistic and reflects European values.

EDAI seeks to align with, not duplicate, these initiatives. It contributes a social, civic, and value-based layer to Europe’s digital transformation efforts — helping ensure that the benefits of public investment translate into everyday adoption and cultural resonance among European citizens and institutions.
